An engagement session is such a perfect ice breaker! Sometimes you’ll know who you want to hire just by how welcoming their personality sounds.

Wouldn’t it be great to spend a little time with them before the actual wedding? Sure, you may have a consultation or two but that’s probably a more professional setting with no camera involved. Having your engagement session gives you the perfect opportunity to see your photographer in action with you. You’ll get a feel for how they’ll pose you, direct you, and help make you comfortable. If you’ve already decided on most of the details of your wedding and have narrowed down your photographer options, be sure to check if you’d be able to have an engagement session with your wedding photos. Usually, your engagement photos can be used for you Save The Date reminders to share with your wedding’s guests. Your photographer may have some templates of their own or might even work closely with a stationer who could create a beautiful invitation with your photos. You can probably find other template choices on Etsy or elsewhere online, just remember that this form of use is included in your photography agreement.
