This was my first time in Minnesota and my very first destination wedding. The weather was amazing! It was absolutely nothing like the heat and humidity that I’m accustomed to in Houston. Jessica and Andre actually live in Houston but most of their family is in Minneapolis so they felt it only right to host their wedding celebration close to “home”. I was so thrilled that they decided to bring me along with them. It was over a year ago that we first took their engagement photos at Hermann Park in Houston. During the pandemic, I ran an engagement session giveaway and they were actually one of the winners. Jessica and Andre felt so comfortable with me during their session that they knew they definitely wanted me at their wedding.
They chose The Essence Event Center in St. Paul to host their traditional tea ceremony and wedding reception. We had a long day ahead of us so we started pretty early. All the unique details were set up on the stage of the ceremony space. Both Jessica and Andre were tucked away in each suite once I arrived. The day turned out to be so exciting with their gorgeous color scheme, animated ceremony games, 10-course dinner, a lively reception, and more. Take a look at some sneak peeks from their wedding day at The Essence Event Center below.
