Pundt Park is one of my favorite places to take photos of couples. The background is covered with tall trees. During golden hour the sun sets behind the trees which are great for even lighting. You can wear shoes or go completely barefoot as you walk the sandy shore. It’s such an easy romantic option for engagement photos or save the dates. I find the best time to start your session is at least an hour and a half before the sun sets since you’re surrounded by high trees that start to block the sun a lot sooner than if you were in an open field. If you’re looking for a nature-type vibe for your photos you should definitely think about doing your engagement session at Pundt Park.
More About Pundt Park
This 380-acre park in Spring TX is a large recreation area that features a canoe launch, playground, bicycle racks, and trails great for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Learn more about the trails at Pundt Park here. Restrooms can be found near the playground. Pundt park has multiple fishing lakes, unpaved trails, picnic areas & a dog park. Its picnic area has several tables and two pavilions. To find the creek where the sand meets the trees, head East once you get to the end of the main road.
Good To Know Before You Go
Park in the designated parking area off Spring Creek Circle E to easily access the playground. You won’t have to do much walking to get to the main trails from there. The parking lot is right across the street from the dog park. Make sure you wear bug spray and bring enough cold water if you’re planning to walk or bike the trails. If you need to stop for gas before heading home you’ll find several gas stations within 2 miles of Pundt Park. It isn’t very far from Mercer Botanic Gardens which is another one of my favorite locations to take engagement photos. Want to grab a bite to eat close by? Check out this list of nearby restaurants.
